How Do Our
Fees Compare?
For most diagnostic and preventative procedures, our fees are
similar to an average dental practice.
For the new and advanced restorative and cosmetic procedures,
our fees are comparable to those dentists who have expertise
and experience in this area. Specialized equipment, materials,
techniques and additional time requirements required to deliver
advanced treatment, mean a premium over average.
Fees for treatment of periodontal (gum) disease depend on the
treatment required to control the gum infection and maintain
control of it. This will vary between individuals.
Insurance re-imbursement is based on partial coverage of a limited
number of basic dental procedures. However, they do help those
who are fortunate enough to have some coverage.
Insurance benefits are often based on a Standard Fee Guide that
reflects an average fee range on an average patient in an average
dental practice. The costs associated with delivering newer,
advanced services in a non-traditional dental practice have not
been factored in.
The cost to the dental office of administrating insurance claims
for patients is significant, and adds to the cost of dental treatment.
The insurance carrier must pay-out benefits, cover all of it's
costs and make a profit for its shareholders. Typically, a carrier
will payout only a little more than fifty percent of the money
it collects in premiums from employers.
Insurance benefits will continue to slide unless employers are
willing and able to fund better plans, or cut out the insurance
companies' administrative costs.
